Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the meaning and the nature of the experiences of the school counselors as protagonist in psychodrama and to contribute to the growthand the development of school counselors. Data were collected from the video recorded and the in-depth interviews with fifteen school counselors from October till Novemberof 2013, who participated six psychodrama sessions. They are employed in elementary school, middle school and high school in K city. Data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological research method. The analysis resulted in five components, 14 subcomponents, and 58 meaningful units. Five components include 'trusting and entrusting', 'trying to escape', 'experiencing inner healing', 'gaining life force' and 'self reflection as acounselor'. Their experiences as protagonist brought them the inner healing and the opportunity of self-growth and development. Based on this study results, we suggested that psychodrama be widely used as part of the training program for school counselors.
