Trends of Research on Lymphedema in Korea: Diagnosis

Abstract

|
Since Korean Research Council of Lymphedema was established in 2004, clinical research for lymphedema has been actively performed in Korea. Especially, the Korean Research Council of Lymphedema was changed into the Korean Society of Lymphedema in 2010, which contributed to the further development in clinical research for lymphedema. For the diagnosis of lymphedema, several clinical or imaging methods including the bioelectrical impedance analysis, X-ray lymphography, X-ray CT, MR lymphangiography, lymphoscitigraphy, whole body blood pool scan, ultrasound and indocyanine green florescence lymphography has been used. In this review, the trends of research on lymphedema diagnosis in Korea are described.
