Relationships between Stress, Social Support, Resilence, Happiness Index in Nursing College Students

Abstract
Purpose: This study was to identify the relationships between Stress, Social Support, Resilience and Happiness Index in nursing students.

Methods: Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires from 130 nursing students at one college of nursing in Busan from September 1 to 20, 2014. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficients by SPSS WIN 18.0 program.

Results: There were significant differences in the college based Stress by Health status, satisfaction of college life, major satisfaction. There were significant differences in the clinical based stress by health status, satisfaction of college life, major satisfaction, satisfaction of clinical practice. There were significant differences in the resilience by health status, satisfaction of college life, selection motivation of nursing, major satisfaction, satisfaction of clinical practice. There were significant differences in the happiness index by grade, health status, satisfaction of college life, selection motivation of nursing, major satisfaction, satisfaction of clinical practice, There were significant correlations between stress, social support, resilience, happiness index.

Conclusion: These results suggested that reducing stress and enhancing social support and resilience would improved happiness index in nursing students.
