Effect of Perception on Clinical Learning Environment and Perfectionism on Resilience of Student Nurses

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore perception on clinical learning environment and perfectionism in relation to resilience and to identify factors influencing resilience in student nurses.

Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. The participants were 313 nursing students from three universities in B, U city. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson s correlation coefficient, Scheffe test and stepwise regression analysis.

Results: Mean score for resilience in nursing students was 4.99 out of 7 point. Resilience explanatory power of the model was in nursing students 20.5% of the variance in perfectionism (¥â=.338, p£¼.001), major satisfaction (¥â=.139, p=.002), college life satisfaction (¥â=.181, p=.014).

Conclusion: Research results suggest that perfectionism, Satisfaction with college life and major satisfaction are important on resilience in nursing students. Therefore is needed develop strategies to manage perfectionism and increase satisfaction with college life and major satisfaction.
