This case study was designed to examine the effect of context-based language intervention to improve idiom comprehension in participants with poor reading comprehension. Participants included three 6th graders with poor reading comprehension scores. The study was conducted over the course of 22 sessions: 40-minute sessions, twice per week. The idiom comprehension degree was evaluated at every session via multiple baselines in a number of subjects and the context comprehension evaluation was measured via both pre-test and post-test. The results of this study are as follows. First, language intervention improved idiom comprehension in all three participants. Second, error frequency by type in context decreased in all three participants. Results confirmed that context-based language intervention effectively improved idiom comprehension.
