Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of group-based intervention programs for depression in community-dwelling older adults and to provide basic data that can be applied for developing effective intervention programs for depression in community-dwelling older adults.

Methods: We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and CINAHL for papers published from January 2008 to December 2018. The key words used in the search were¡°older* OR elder*¡±, ¡°community AND group¡±, ¡°depress*¡± and ¡°intervention OR program¡±. From a total of 6 papers, the data of 10 intervention programs for depression were extracted.

Results: All papers reported level I evidence, indicating that the overall evidence level was high. The subjects included more women than men, and the short geriatric depression scale was used for measuring depression. Intervention programs for depression were classified into four types: exercise programs, social interventions, cognitive interventions, and laughter therapy. The time and duration of each session varied, and many studies conducted post-tests to verify the long-term effectiveness of the programs.

Conclusion: Through this systematic review, we were able to understand the characteristics of group-based intervention programs for depression in community-dwelling older adults. These results can be used as basic data by occupational therapists to develop intervention programs for depression in community-dwelling older adults.
