Interaction-Based Cognitive Group Interventions for Older Adults: A Bibliographic Analysis

Abstract

|
|
Objective : This study aims to provide basic data to promote research on the effectiveness of interaction-based cognitive group interventions for older adults in Korea through a quantitative descriptive analysis.
Methods : Papers published over 10 years from January 2014 to September 2023 were analyzed, and (elderly), OR (older), OR (geriatric), AND (connection), OR (relationship), OR (social interaction), AND (group), and AND (intervention) was used as the search formula. Interaction-based cognitive group interventions for older adults were examined using a VOS viewer (version 1.6.19).
Results : A total of 838 films were identified, showing a steady increase from 31 in 2014 to 70 in 2023. Country citation analysis revealed that the United States was the most active country in interaction-based cognitive group intervention studies for older adults. Keywords: ¡°Cognition¡± (245 times), ¡°Social cognition¡± (115 times), ¡°Dementia¡± (109 times), ¡°Schizophrenia¡± (99 times), and ¡°Intervention¡± (93 times).
Conclusion : The findings of this study highlight the importance of interaction in older adults. Additionally, our findings will serve as fundamental data for future cognitive group interventions targeting older populations in Korea.
