Purpose: An eye-tracking system with visible light video camera mounted on the eyeglass frame was designed and evaluated. This system needs no additional illumination and dose not limit the head motion.
Methods: Two visible light video cameras were mounted on the eyeglass frame and the eye position was analyzed by real-time image processing. The system was applied to five normal volunteers, and the detection rate and the tracking error range were evaluated.
Results: There were 17 failed cases among the randomly sampled 858 tracking data, which was equivalent to the 97.9% of detection rate. And the tracking error range was about 1~1.15¡Æ.
Conclusions:A light-weighted, wearable eye-tracking system was developed and showed the comparable performances with other systems. This system can be used for the medical evaluation and other research fields.
