Influences Employment Type on Job Stress of Korean Government Employees

Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between employment type and jab stress in the Korean government employees.

Methods : The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 252 employees at 3 public enterprises located in Gyeonggi Province. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, x 2-test, t-test, multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 18.0.

Results : The results are as regular employees scored 42.41 and non-regular employees scored 46.20 out of 100 in job stress, thus showed a significant difference(p=.003). Analysis of factors influencing job stress demonstrated that males, employees of ¡°U city¡± and ¡°S city¡±, and non-regular employees showed significantly high work-related stress.

Conclusion : It is required to developing plans to resolve and manage job stress is thought to be necessary not only in an individual perspective but also in an organizational perspective. Especially the factors causing job stress of non-regular employees should be managed properly.
