The 10-Years Longitudinal Study on Risk Factor of Cerebrovascular Disease of Workers in Manufacturing

Abstract
Purpose : The findings of physical examination for workers show that the number of people with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, or obesity is increasing day by day and the diseases are known as risk factors for cerebrocardiovascular diseases.

Methods : The subjects of this study were 201 adult workers who were possible to be followed up for their records of physical examination over the last ten years. Additionally the changes in risk factors according to general characteristics, health related habits and job related characteristics were investigated along with the affecting factors on the change.

Results : Blood pressure was increased by 6.7§®Hg in systolic pressure and 1.4§®Hg in diastolic pressure, total cholesterol 15.7§·/§£, fasting blood sugar 10.1§·/§£ and BMI 0.8¡¾1.49kg/§³ respectively. In case of long work experience, systolic blood pressure was changed. There is a significant change in diastolic blood pressure when no current shift is performed. In married people, fasting blood sugar was more likely to change. There is a significant change in BMI in those who do not currently smoke and young.

Conclusion : In order to effectively carry out workers' health management, it is necessary to carry out systematic and comprehensive management by occupational health manager in the workplace.
