The Effect of Health Beliefs on Special Medical Examination Satisfaction for Chemical Research Worker

Abstract
Purpose : This study was conducted to analyze the effect of health beliefs of chemical researchers on satisfaction with special medical examination.

Methods : The survey responses of 279 chemical research workers were used for the final estimate. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, health beliefs, characteristics related to special health examination, and satisfaction with special medical examination. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18.0.

Results : The higher the perceived benefit by the chemical research workers, the higher their satisfaction regarding the special medical examination was found.

Conclusion : Based on the results of this study when planning health education for chemical research workers, it is necessary to include the fact that diseases can be detected early and the occurrence of industrial accidents can be prevented through special health examination. Moreover it is suggested that continuously study the factors that affect the satisfaction of chemical research workers' special medical examination, and the contents of special medical examination should be included in the company regulations and publicized to workers.
