The Impact of Health Managers¡¯ Smoking Cessation Program Planning Ability on Workplace Smoking Cessation Program Implementation

Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to analyze the smoking cessation program planning ability of health managers and determine the impact of such ability on the promotion of workplace smoking cessation programs.

Methods : The subjects of the study were a total of 288 health managers, and self-reported online survey was conducted to collect the data. The variables that affected the promotion of smoking cessation programs were then analyzed.

Results : According to the results of a multiple regression analysis on the factors influencing the implementation of smoking cessation programs, the model was found to be statistically significant with an explanatory power of 39.6%. Smoking cessation program planning ability, gender, current work experience, educational experience related to smoking cessation program implementation, and industry sector were identified as significant influencing factors.

Conclusion : It is necessary for health managers to improve their planning ability in order to promote professional and systematic smoking cessation programs in the workplace. In this regard, it is necessary to develop a customized training program that takes into account the personal and workplace character-istics of health managers.
